Canolfan • UCHELDRE • Centre
Centre for the performing and visual arts in Anglesey, North Wales
Ucheldre closed at 10pm on Friday 20 March 2020.
We will re-open as soon as the Government advises that such an action is permissible, and safe. At the moment the 2m separation rule is in place and Theatres cannot re-open.
We hope to be able to re-open shortly.
It would help us to get some idea of people's appetite for attending events if you would complete the survey commissioned from Indigo in this link: Ucheldre Survey
We are working this week (1 September) with Ensemble Cymru on a project, and the week after next with Huw Warren. These will help us to prepare the Centre and gain experience of COVID-19 safe procedures ready for re-opening.
Below is some other information which may be of interest.
We wish you all well.
WIld Life Garden
Just before we closed we had finished a programme called Developing Public Value with Purpose; those of you at the last Friends’ Meeting will recall the facilitator, Lisa Baxter, outlining the scheme. The first part of the programme we developed was to get people to help us create a wildlife garden in Ucheldre’s grounds. We were successful in the Tidy Wales' scheme to receive a wild life package. As everyone appears to have been gardening extensively this past few months, there is a shortage of trees, plants and shrubs. Therefore, we will probably be looking towards the end of September/October to start. We are due to be provided with various items including wildflower turf, 5 native fruit trees, 105 wildlife friendly trees, 2 benches and various native pollinator friendly plants including shrubs, bulbs, and climbing plants.
