Centre for the performing and visual arts in Anglesey, North Wales
Diary ExhibitionsAnglesey has a rich heritage of modern art. Many of its living artists are members of the Anglesey Arts Forum, which also coordinates the Anglesey Art Weeks each April. The main art exibitions cover the whole range of the visual arts, from classical painting to avant-garde sculpture, and provide opportunities for display by local, national, and international artists. They typically change every six weeks, and are housed in the exhibition space and main hall. A selection of art is for sale in the Ucheldre Kitchen and the shop.
This collection of past and present work by Welsh quilt artist Bethan Ash focuses on the development of her work over the past 20 years. She pushes the boundaries of traditional design, utilizing her love of colour and her earlier training as a fashion designer, whilst incorporating the textile arts strengths of warmth, texture and utilitarian design. Exhibition runs until Wednesday 14 July

A chance to see the wide range of work exhibited in Ucheldres 19th
annual Art for All Competition. Many of the adult paintings are for
sale. Entry forms are available from the Centre, and must be
returned with the work between Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 July
2010, 10am5pm.

A major new all-Wales exhibition, Following the Flame, is a celebration of Wales impressive involvement in the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and forms an integral part of The Power of the Flame, Wales contribution to the Cultural Olympiad, in the build up to London 2012. Ucheldre is one of the principal partners in this important project. As a taster of things to come, this small launch exhibition will introduce the project to Ynys Môn, include a range of workshops for school children, invite people of all ages and abilities to get involved, and contribute creatively to the major exhibition which will be launched at Ucheldre in July 2011. Exhibition runs until Friday 12 November

Led for the nation by Wrexham County Borough Council and supported by the Legacy Trust UK Workshops sponsored by Arts & Business Cymru and Holyhead Boatyard Ltd.
Six Anglesey-based artists show their highly individual interpretations of A Coastal Country, using watercolour, oil, acrylic, photography, and textiles.
